Today we will take a detailed look at the jewel in the Salming crown, the EnRoute 2.
The first impression is that of a lightweight, very flexible, responsive and high-performance shoe, characteristics that may well deter many runners looking for a more comfortable and cushioned model.
However, it is equally evident and immediate that with the enRoute2 you are faced with a shoe that attempts to escape all schemes and classifications. In fact, right from the first time you put it on, you feel a sensation of softness and comfort, due to the excellent padding on the inside of the upper, which literally envelops the foot and supports its movements, always favouring a fluid and natural stride. The lacing system, in this regard, is in fact integrated and supportive of the upper, while the midsole, with a dual-density Torsional Efficiency Unit system, guarantees high flexibility and a smooth roll.
The upper, made with ExoSkeleton structure, in triple-layer mesh with synthetic protection on the toe, offers excellent wear resistance and is characterised by a soft breathable fabric that allows sweat to evaporate perfectly.
Thecushioning is also appreciable, of a good level considering the extremely low weight (256 g for the men’s version and 192 g for the women’s) of the Swedish manufacturer’s top model, and the durability in terms of the number of kilometres it can guarantee (no less than 800 km) is also high.
The differential, which is lowered but not too much (6 mm), allows you to freely set the running pace you wish to maintain, from slower to medium/fast pace, for superior versatility and a constant sensation of running pleasure.
All in all, a model that we strongly recommend to everyone, from the runner in search of speed and performance, to the occasional amateur, who appreciates a shoe that is comfortable and cushioned, but with a lightness and elasticity that has few equals in the running world.
