THE BEST RUNNING SHOES TO START RUNNING
“”Whoever gets off to a good start is half the battle!””
No saying has been more appropriate than this, especially for those who intend to start running.
In the case of running we can say that the most important moment is the one of the first exits. Often, the feeling of fatigue can beat the best motivation, especially if you don’t wear suitable shoes on your feet.
So, what are the best shoes to start running?
THE TYPE OF SUPPORT
Before even going through the review of the most suitable models, we must try to understand what is the type of support: neutral or pronation? Fortunately, there are specialized shops, like ours, to immediately answer this preliminary as well as decisive question. Making the wrong shoe type can already lead to a premature end of good intentions. So watch out for the various neutral models (more or less supported at the level of the plantar arch) and anti-pronation: they will be our best travel companions.
WHAT IS OUR WEIGHT?
Weight is also a decisive factor. Not that one of shoes (but possibly avoid bricks!), as ours. If we start running carrying 60 kg with us, it will certainly be different from those who will do it having to move even a hundred kg. Let us therefore orient ourselves towards the models most in tune with our physical structure.
PRONATION? STABLE MODELS!
If the response of the support test is pronation, then we’ll must select a valid stable model (or antipronation). Among the more structured ones, we point out Brooks Glycerin GTS 20, certainly the top of the range of the American brand, and Adrenaline GTS 22, while lighter and more versatile, but with excellent stability, are the Guide 15 by Saucony and the Arahi 6 by Hoka.
WHEN THE SUPPORT IS NEUTRAL
If our type of support was neutral or even supination, we could consider the following models: Brooks Glycerin 20 or Ghost 14, both well structured, Saucony Triumph 19 (well structured) or Ride 15 (lighter and versatile) or, always with the same distinction, Hoka Kawana or Clifton 8.
A VALID ADVICE
Let’s try, if possible, to choose a model that supports us in a valid way not only during the first trainings, but that it is able to follow our progress, both in terms of pace and distance. Precisely for this purpose, in fact, we have limited the list to a not too high number of models, preferring those that can accompany us for more km following our evolution.
The first pair of running shoes is the watershed between good intentions and putting them into practice consistently. Let’s rely on specialized stores in order to get the best experience and learn to love this wonderful activity!
