Like all electronic devices, our Garmin may also start to malfunction.
Before despairing, you can try some procedures to try to bring it back to optimal operating conditions.
Below we will analyze some of the problems that may arise and some solutions before taking our device to a service center or having to replace it with a new one.
Battery charging
If your device does not turn on, the first advice (it may seem trivial) is to make sure it is charged. We may have charged it from a non-working socket, connected it badly or maybe it is simply not the device that is not working, but rather the charging cable. In each of these cases we recommend trying an alternative solution: change the socket, check that you have connected the cable correctly or try another one.
Software updates
If your device starts to have software malfunction problems, you may need to update the device. In this case we recommend downloading the program Garmin Express and updating the device following the wizard.
Restart
If your device is stuck on a screen, the initial advice is to try restarting it. Just hold down the on/off button for about 15 seconds (until the device turns off) and then turn it back on normally (be careful, restarting could cause the loss of data and stored profiles).
Reset
If some particular functions are not working and the update with Garmin Express has not solved the problem, you can try a system reset from the device: just go to the main menu > settings > system > restore defaults> yes (be careful, this operation causes the loss of data and stored profiles).
Purchasing a new product
If you have followed and tried all the suggestions above, then all you have to do is take your device to a service center or start thinking about a new device.
