Choosing the best running shoes very often proves complicated and tortuous, considering the vast number of brands, types and models on the market.
In this guide we will try to shed some light by guiding you in your choice, following the various steps that our store offers on this ‘journey’.
First and foremost, it is essential to point out that there is no such thing as an absolute best shoe that is right for everyone, so be wary of those who tell you ‘you absolutely must take it because I have tried it’. Sometimes the good faith of friends hides this mistake, the shoe that is good for our friend may not be good for us for the reasons we will explain below.
First Step – Man or Woman
Although it may seem trivial, we feel it is only right to say a few words on the subject.
Even if we find some sizes in common between men’s and women’s models, the shoe will not be identical, the women’s shoe will most likely be more tapered. Care must therefore be taken when buying a shoe intended for an audience of the opposite sex, it may be uncomfortable.
Second step – The right size
Even this step might seem trivial but as we have already analysed in a previous article on shoe sizing, the correct shoe should always leave an inch of space in the front.
In our store on any page, within the categories referring to shoes, you can filter by your size to see which shoes suitable for you are in our stock.
Third step – Anti-pronation or neutral
When choosing a shoe, another characteristic it is good to know before starting any research is that of support.
Shoes are differentiated between those for those with neutral support and those with anti-pronation.
Through an analysis of the foot, possibly by a podiatrist or orthopaedist, we can understand what type of support we have and consequently what type of shoe we need.
Again, it is always possible to filter the shoes in the shop.
Fourth step – Brand
Each brand of shoe has its own characteristics common to all models.
Usually the main differences between one and another are the types of materials used, especially in the sole and midsole, and the fit, some being wider and others more tapered.
If you already have a clear idea of which brand you want to see, you can use the appropriate filter
Last step – Cushioning and terrain
Within the product sheets of each shoe we have included ratings for cushioning and terrain.
Cushioning : The outdated classification between A2, A3 and A4 represented the level of cushioning offered by the shoes, on each of our shoes you will find an indication of the type of cushioning.
Terrain : Each shoe is designed to be used on different terrains. The most natural classification is between trail shoes and shoes for running on asphalt.

When you have managed to find the shoe that possesses all the features listed above, you will have found the best running shoes for you!
