“Jump in, it’s soft”
THE BEST CUSHIONED RUNNING SHOES
So said a Christmas advertisement some time ago.
A slogan that we can take literally and transfer to the world of running and those who start practising it.
Needless to say, running is a discipline that is as marvellous as it is, alas, tiring and demanding.
So why not put yourself in the best condition to tackle it?
Here is a brief review in alphabetical order of the best cushioned and comfortable running shoes.
BROOKS
The Detroit-based American brand unleashes the ultimate in cushioning and comfort with its flagship model, the Glycerin 20.
Soft, with a medium/width sole and cutting-edge technology, it uses a very interesting DNA Loft v3 compound: a soft foam that uses a nitrogen infusion(nitroinfusion) to improve its characteristics of lightness, fluidity and energy conservation. A real treat for lovers of the genre, suitable for all types of distances.
HOKA ONE ONE
It is impossible to talk about Hoka without thinking of its softest and flashiest model: the Bondi 8.
Newly revamped in terms of cushioning (softer, lighter and more fluid), it guarantees the necessary stability thanks to a medium-wide sole and, above all, a very large support surface. Ideal for taking your first steps into the Hoka world or for heavy weights/heights, it offers maximum comfort over medium/long distances.
KARHU
The traditional Finnish bear brand is a different matter. The cushioning of all its models is certainly good, but less cloying than the competition. This is in order to never lose pace with the necessary stability, achieved with a more compact and resilient compound,Aerofoam, and with Fulcrum technology, designed to advance all forces and create a smoother ride. Durability is also excellent. The top model is undoubtedly the Synchron Ortix.
SAUCONY
In terms of cushioning and comfort, the US brand’s flagship model has been the Triumph for 20 editions now. In particular, the latest Triumph 20 version has been almost completely redesigned. With a higher profile and drop (10mm), a reformulated PWRRUN+ compound for greater softness and lightness, and finally a 7mm insole of the same PWRRUN+ material, it contributes to a smoother and less tiring running style. Ideal for long distances and even heavy weights.
IN CONCLUSIONE
It would be really difficult to give grades to these models and thus draw up a ranking. You must therefore take into account your own characteristics of weight, height, pace and constancy in training. Only then will it be possible to assess which shoes are best suited to your needs. However, we can say that each of the above models has its own nature and philosophy. It will therefore not be prohibitive to select the one that will accompany us for the next few kilometres.
We therefore invite you to read carefully all the characteristics of each of these shoes, just a click away!
Or we’ll be waiting for you in person at one of our sales outlets, in Conegliano (TV) or Pordenone.
Happy (soft) rides to all!
